70% of people impacted by natural disasters live in the Asia-Pacific region as their countries are vulnerable to climate-related hazards such as floods, storms/cyclones, droughts, and landslides. Against the backdrop of natural disasters, conflict and political instability continues in Myanmar where approximately 14.4 million people required humanitarian assistance in 2022. World Vision humanitarians are the driving force of multi-sectoral programming to support children and their families with the tools and resources enabling them to be prepared to mitigate disaster risks and ensure the long-term recovery and rehabilitation of their lives and livelihoods.
In 2022, 506,936 people in Cambodia, Myanmar, Lao PDR, Viet Nam, and Mongolia were supported through immediate survival assistance and recovered local market. Cash/Voucher assistance has been incorporated into our Humanitarian and Emergency Response and longer-term development programming.
