Young Minds CAMP
World Vision East Asia believes that children and young people can play a significant role as agents of transformation with the capability to engage in decision-making processes, in accordance with their evolving capacities and gradually increasing autonomy. When children and young people learn to communicate opinions, take responsibility and make decisions, they develop a sense of belonging, justice, accountability, and solidarity.
We intentionally strengthen child participation within three key domains: Child Participation in Programming, Child Participation in Advocacy, and Child Participation in WV decision-making.
What is Young Minds CAMP?
Young Minds CAMP seeks to nurture young committed leaders with the right values as the foundation of the training to equip them to serve with humility and advocate with love. It will lead and equip young minds with the right knowledge and skills to explore and embrace their limitless potential. Young Minds CAMP will prepare young leaders to take on the global stage in advancing their child-led initiatives and advocacy efforts for the well-being of children in East Asia.
Young Minds CAMP is also an opportunity for young leaders to learn, grow, lead, serve and positively impact their communities. It will amplify their voices and motivate young leaders to take initiative, meaningfully engage in decision-making processes and propose child-led solutions for issues that affect them.
They are making their voices heard
During a luncheon dialogue with representatives from the United Nations and other international agencies on 7 June 2024, Young Minds CAMP's youth leaders boldly presented their perspectives and recommendations on critical issues such as climate change, hunger, and malnutrition. This platform showcased their skills in research and advocacy, and affirmed their role as advocates for sustainable development in their communities.
