Sponsorship Operations Coordinator

World Vision began its first intervention in Ethiopia in 1971 with relief and opened Ethiopia office in 1975. Relief, rehabilitation and small community development projects dominated the decade that followed. During the 1984/85 drought, World Vision Ethiopia participated in a massive relief operation that saved the lives of millions of people. After an intensive relief and rehabilitation programme, the organization developed a new integrated development approach the objective of which was to ensure empowerment and transformational change. This approach led to the establishment of Area Development Programs (ADPs) in the 1990s that is still being implemented and continuously strengthened today.

1. Major Responsibilities

  • Coordinate & ensure all child Sponsorship business processes are implemented at POO/ADPs as per sponsorship policies, standards and procedures;
  • Identify the skill gap of the POO/ADPs staff and conduct training in collaboration with NO Sponsorship operation team as required;
  • Coordinate, Facilitate and Monitor the sponsorship operation functions of the POO and ensuring quality child to sponsor communications;
  • Network and build smooth relationship with NO, Support Offices and ADPs in providing quality sponsorship service;
  • Coordinate and handle Sponsor Visit, follow up on Birthday Bounce Back Christmas gift kit and GN funds under the POO;
  • Monitor and follow up the status of SOIs/KPIs, Child Monitoring, RC/family benefit and participations in the program using sponsorship systems and other tools as appropriate;
  • Ensure the timely collection and delivery of sponsor and child mails/parcels/gifts;
  • Implement, Monitor and follow up new sponsorship initiatives (Sponsorship 2.0, Single STEP, sCMS, SIP, etc) at the POO and ADPs;
  • Coordinate, Monitor and Ensure quality designing of APR and Christmas Cards and follow up on timely mailing process to respective sponsors and Sos on regualr and period basis;
  • Participate and contribute to POO level guidance on design/redesigning of ADP programs ensuring that Sponsorship components are integrated appropriately in alignment with Partnership Guidance;
  • Facilitate and Coordinate ADP transitions and send Project Closure Comment report with Fare-well Letters to sponsors/SOs according to the sponsorship standards;
  • Monitor and follow up Annual Sponsorship Data Reconciliation, Children Annual and Biannual data Updates in STEP system, Case Management Issues, CWB components of the respective ADPs;
  • Monitor, follow up and ensure the proper functioning of all sponsorship operation systems at ADPs to inform sponsorship programming regularly;
  • Collaborate with POO ICT in ensuring that staff working at sponsorship systems are adequately trained and supported and are performing at optimum level

2. Qualifications Required:

MA in English, Psychology, Sociology or related fields is preferred though BA with equivalent experiences will be considered

3.Work Experience:

  •  At least 4 years experiences in Child Sponsorship of which 2 years in supervisory level

4. Technical Skills Required:

  • Good knowledge in WV sponsorship programs
  • Proven Negotiation and Leadership skills
  • Fluent writing and spoken English
  • Good presentation, communication and partnering skills
  • Good Monitoring and Evaluation Experience
