A day in the life of a Palestinian child in Gaza...
Eleven-year-old Nissma is one child in Gaza, in a population of 1.5 million- more than half of whom are children. Nissma and her peers continue to live under Israeli occupation and a military blockade, effective since June 2007 and illegal according to the International Court of Justice, under the Fourth Geneva Convention. In her world, this blockade is what prevents access to the most basic of goods, such as food, school and medical supplies and equipment necessary to provide enough clean drinking water. Nissma feels lucky to be sponsored through World Vision. But despite her ordinary daily routine she knows her life is very different to many children in the world…
