Help us call on world leaders
90% of children have missed out on essential education because of Covid-19. And those in the poorest countries are hardest hit.
Being out of school puts vulnerable children at risk of exploitation and abuse. We’ve seen a surge in child marriage and other forms of violence since the start of the pandemic.
And millions may never return to the classroom.
It’s vital all children have access to safe and secure learning so they can develop, thrive and face hopeful futures. But we need more funding to make this a reality.
Please help us call on world leaders to:
- Increase national and overseas aid budgets for education
- Support school programmes that help reduce violence against children

Help us call on world leaders
Education can change a child’s life - offering learning and skills that can free a child from poverty and create a brighter future.
But too many children are missing out on vital schooling. And Covid-19 means millions of the world’s poorest young people may never return to the classroom.
Missing out on school doesn’t just mean missing lessons. It affects a child for life. Children are more exposed to abuse and violence, forced to marry or work and unable to escape a cycle of poverty.
That’s why we’re calling on world leaders to fund safe, quality schooling for all children and young people. Please help us ensure all children can get the education they need and have hope of a better future.
