World Vision Kenya is a child-focused Christian humanitarian, relief, development and advocacy non-governmental organisation with projects in most parts of Kenya.  We serve all people regardless of religion, race, ethnicity or gender.

Last year, World Vision Kenya impacted the lives of more than three (3) million people including 2.2 million children across the country.

We are looking for dynamic Board and Organisational members who want to be part of this noble, fulfilling and impactful journey.

World Vision Kenya has a two-tier governance structure consisting of a Board and an organisational membership. We wish to recruit highly qualified, motivated and result-oriented individuals in their respective fields to serve World Vision Kenya on a voluntary basis as hereunder: -

  1. Board members; and
  2. Organisational Members (individuals who may be called upon to serve on Board Committees and Task Forces as determined by the Board from time to time in addition to their membership duties).

Collectively, the qualified individuals should represent diversity in experience, professionalism and competence, age, gender, church affiliation, ethnicity and geographic backgrounds.

Areas of Expertise

  • Water, Sanitation & Hygiene (WASH);
  • Nutrition, Public Health & Community Development;
  • Environment & Climate Change;
  • Livelihoods & Resilience;
  • Fundraising (Marketing & Resource Mobilisation);
  • Information Communication Technology (ICT); and
  • Legal.

Key Competencies / Requisite Skills

  • English language fluency (written and verbal);
  • Good communication skills including public speaking and presentation skills;
  • Value for humanity and charity;
  • Impact thinking;
  • Must be a committed Christian who participates in the worship and life of a local church (a Trinitarian denomination);
  • Willing and able to devote significant time (minimum of 12 days) during each calendar year on a voluntary basis;
  • Strategic Leadership capabilities;
  • Corporate governance experience and exposure;
  • Fundraising knowledge;
  • Proven professional competence in the area of expertise;
  • Good inter-personal skills;
  • Analytical and critical thinking with a sound understanding of the prevailing social, political and economic situation in Kenya; and
  • Innovation and agility.

  • Be highly networked and/or influential, and be able to help advance World Vision’s work in the country.
  • Be of good reputation;
  • Willing to be a twin citizen, as well as subscribe and adhere to the Mission Statement, Core Values, Statement of Faith, Covenant of Partnership, Constitution of World Vision Kenya and other applicable World Vision Partnership policies;
  • Former sponsored children/direct recipients of support and representatives from areas where World Vision Kenya operates in are encouraged to apply;
  • Not an employee of World Vision, or a close family member of a current World Vision Kenya employee or a former National Director of WV Kenya, who served in that capacity during the last three years.
