Millennium Development Goals to Sustainable Development Goals

It refers to discussions around the development goals and targets that will replace the Millennium Development Goals, which began in 2000 and expire at the end of 2015. This year, governments, working with the United Nations, will be agreeing what these new goals and targets will look like and what’s needed to erase extreme poverty by 2030. They will agree and sign these goals at the UN General Assembly in New York in September.
