Three hundred children gathered to show off some remarkable talent at a children’s Swallow gala concert April 11th. The young talents from Khan-Uul district rocked the stage with traditional folk arts with breathtaking singing and dancing numbers.
Watching these youngsters, including children aged 3 to 17 years, rehearse backstage displayed nothing but serious commitment and accomplishment. That’s because they made it to the final round, leaving behind 2,000 other contestants – an amazing achievement.
This concert, which took place at the Mongolian Workers’ Culture Hall, also marks the 7th anniversary of the children’s folk art initiative by the local municipality in collaboration with World Vision Mongolia.
“This event was initially organized to promote Mongolian traditional folk art like dance and songs among our youngsters,” says World Vision Mongolia’s Khan-Uul Area Development Program manager Sarantsetseg Oyunbileg. “Today the range has widened.”
“By working together, [we] are inventing these children’s talents,” says Khan-Uul district civil representatives’ chairman D.Batbileg. “The important thing is that we are preparing our generation to take on our traditional folk art and carry it on.”
