Child-friendly schools provide quality education

Students of Shree Yashwo Brahma Secondary School in Gaonshahar Village Development Committee (VDC), Lamjung enjoy going to school. Their school is not just well equipped but is also child friendly and providing quality education.

The Education Project of World Vision’s Lamjung Area Development Programme aims to provide quality education to children, building a child-friendly school environment and improved access to educational opportunities. 11 government schools including Yashwo Brahma Secondary School have been promoted as child-friendly schools, with improved capacity of teachers, management committees, child clubs and other stakeholders, and upgraded physical facilities. Schoolteachers, School Management Committees and Parent Teachers’ Association have been trained in child-friendly teaching. 21 child-friendly classrooms have been constructed. Children from 32 child clubs have been trained in child club management, mobilisation, and leadership.
