Wednesday, August 15, 2012

Children have access to drinking water in Navadurga Primary School in Geta Village Development Committee (VDC).

With the help of World Vision’s Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) Project in Kailali, water schemes have been built in 6 government schools of in Geta VDC. The objective is to provide safe drinking water to children in schools. The runoff water is also used for irrigating nearby agricultural fields.

WASH is a context-specific sector in WVIN which seeks to address water, sanitation, and the hygiene of vulnerable communities through Community-Led Total Sanitation. WASH projects work to provide safe drinking water to local communities, promote toilets for improved sanitation, and raise awareness among communities regarding good personal hygiene practices.
