Supporting livelihoods in Lamjung

Friday, October 5, 2012

Sabina Pariyar, 12, a sponsored child from Lamjung district is happy to be with her grandparents. Her grandparents look after her and her other siblings with the money they make from stitching.

Few years back Sabina’s parents abandoned their children. Since then they have been living with their grandparents. Understanding their needs, World Vision supported the family with a goat and a pig, sewing machine and toilet construction. The grandparents make living from the money they earn from  stitching for others and selling livestock.

Sabina’s grandmother Sarkini shares, “Because of World Vision my husband and I have been able to look after our three grandchildren. The money we make from stitching and selling livestock has helped us educate them, feed them and take care of them. I cannot imagine what we would do if World Vision didn’t help us.”
