Untold Stories 3: the art exhibition against human trafficking opens in Tirana
TIRANA – An art exhibition against human trafficking was opened today in the premises of the “Kalo Art Gallery” in Tirana, exhibiting dozens of artworks for the public. Through the competition "Untold Stories 3 – An art perspective to the human trafficking" and the power of art as a means of communication and engagement, the aim of the event is to increase awareness and critical thinking about human trafficking. All the artworks in black and white drawings and paintings emphasize joint efforts to prevent the phenomenon and support the victims.
This exhibition finalizes the national competition "Untold Stories 3", organized by World Vision Albania and UNICEF Albania, as part of the Program funded by the United Kingdom government: “Transforming National Response to Human Trafficking in and from Albania".
This initiative aims to contribute to strengthening the positive dialogue between government authorities, citizens, donors, partners, but also the circle of young artists, in their endeavour to find solutions for human trafficking, as a serious issue affecting the entire society.
During three days, visitors will have the opportunity to visit 30 artworks, which were carefully selected from a total of 114 applications submitted by artists across Albania. Three artworks were awarded winners by the professional jury composed by Anila Zajmi Katanolli, Albes Fusha and Alket Frashëri.
High representatives from state institutions, international organizations, young artists, survivors of trafficking, as well as many citizens were present at the opening ceremony of the exhibition.
