World Vision is responding to help keep children on the move safe in BiH and the region

Monday, August 26, 2024

In light of the news of the tragic loss of 10 lives, including the lives of a mother and her 9-month-old baby, while they were attempting to cross the Drina River at the border between Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), World Vision BiH expresses our deepest condolences to the families of the victims and those still missing, as well as the survivors of this devastating and traumatic experience, amongst whom are children. Insecure and unsafe migratory routes along the Balkan Route put the lives of children on the move and their families at unnecessary risk. Unaccompanied and separated children are easy prey and particularly at risk from smugglers and human traffickers.

Together with relevant institutions and partner organisations on the ground, World Vision is responding to help keep children on the move safe in BiH and the region.

Nesigurni migrantski putevi uz Balkansku rutu stavljaju živote djece u pokretu i njihovih porodica u nepotreban rizik.
