Monday, August 19, 2024

World Vision Sudan Food Security and Livelihood Capacity Statement 2024 details the severe food insecurity crisis in Sudan, worsened by ongoing conflict since April 2023. It highlights that more than half of Sudan’s population faces crisis levels of hunger, with 14 areas at risk of famine. World Vision Sudan's Food Security and Livelihood (FSL) program is the largest sector in the organisation’s portfolio, addressing urgent needs through food assistance, agricultural inputs, livestock support, and income-generating activities. The program collaborates with strategic partners on providing sustenance to vulnerable populations, particularly children and pregnant women, and enhancing household food security and income. The statement outlines ongoing and future FSL initiatives across various states, emphasising the scale-up of emergency assistance and sustainable livelihood interventions. The program is poised to expand further, addressing the escalating food crisis with continued donor support and strategic partnerships.
