Fighting Early Marriage: Mozambique's Commitment to Protecting Girls

Mozambique has made significant progress in addressing child marriage through legal reforms, including the 2019 Law for Preventing and Ending Child Marriage. Despite these efforts, nearly 48% of girls are married before 18. Challenges such as economic insecurity, conflict, and natural disasters have reversed some gains, especially in rural areas. World Vision calls for a socio-ecological approach, involving community leaders, religious figures, and behavior change initiatives to effectively reduce child marriage.
