World Vision launched the Middle East Crisis (MEC) Response in October 2023 with a US$8 million appeal to respond to the staggering needs, increasing activities in May 2024, and again in September 2024 as needs escalated.

The Middle East has seen an unprecedented escalation of violence over the past year, which has severely affected communities, particularly children, across the region. More than 7.1 million children in countries across the Middle East face death, injury, and forced displacement as a result of this conflict. Almost a million people have been displaced due to the escalating conflict and violence, and many are still unable to return home to their towns and villages.

Humanitarian access is severely restricted. Gaza faces blockades, and the West Bank has almost 800 roadblocks, hindering access to healthcare and education. Lebanon’s displaced families struggle with limited access to water, sanitation, and health care due to damaged infrastructure.

Overall in the year October 2023-September 2024, World Vision reached 699,744 girls, boys, women, and men in West Bank and Lebanon.
