Thursday, October 6, 2022

Necoclí is a town on Colombia's northern border, which is the gateway to the Darién Gap. In recent years, it has become an obligatory crossing point for migrants passing through Colombia to Central and North America in an irregular way.

From January to August 2022, more than 106,000 people have crossed through this jungle. It is a place full of dangers, due to its difficult geography, wild animals and armed groups that manage the territory.

Many people come to this place, most of the time with misguided hopes. They are looking better life for their families. Unfortunately, they encounter violence, robberies, sexual assaults, human trafficking and death.
