World Vision’s approach to ending violence against children is protecting children from today while empowering them for the future. In order to combat the root causes of violence against children, World Vision works to provide communities and local partners with the capacity and resources they need.

As part of the global movement, the 'It Takes Myanmar' campaign was launched in Myanmar in early 2018 with 5 years commitment to reduce and eliminate 'physical violence against children at home and in school', which is an alarming situation without people noticing. The campaign design was integrated into the Child Protection Technical Program to make it a programmatic campaign and ensure activities would be continued even after the campaign was phased out. Other programmes such as Education, Health, Nutrition, WASH, and Livelihoods also mainstreamed ITAW into their program activities.

The campaign adopted an 'inclusive action' approach and welcomed children, parents, teachers, volunteers, government departments, artists, professionals, and private and public donors to join hands in pursuing the desired goal.

This report summarises the achievements made throughout the campaign. It seeks to encourage individuals, families and child-focused agencies to continue the campaign activities to end 'violence against children' in the country. The future of the world is in the hands of children, thus protecting children and investing in them is a priority for all of us. A beautiful world can be envisioned only when all forms of violence against children are reduced so that our children enjoy a healthy and happy environment.
