DownloadDisaster Risk in Solomon Islands
The Solomon Islands are extremely susceptible to natural hazards. Over the past decade, several natural disasters have struck the country, including cyclones, floods, droughts, earthquakes and tsunamais. These have resulted in destruction of property, livelihoods and loss of life. Humanitarian relief and response to such disasters presents many challenges for government and nongovernment organisations. Hence strong co-ordination is essential during these times.
