More than 11 million people are in need of humanitarian assistance in South Sudan. Conflict and persistent food insecurity has threatened the livelihoods of families. There have been projections of extreme food insecurity throughout 2018, and a call for large-scale humanitarian assistance in order to save lives.

But, funding targets remain significantly low. As of May 23, 2018, the South Sudan Humanitarian Response US$1.7 billion funding appeal was only as 21.6% funded.

Since January, World Vision has reached 2,656,461 people with humanitarian assistance.
