World Vision Mourns Loss of Teacher in Afghanistan Quakes
World Vision Afghanistan is deeply saddened to report that one of our cherished teachers, Rabia, was killed in the earthquakes in Herat.
Rabia ran the village’s only community-based education project and died alongside her three children and 12 others under her instruction. Rabia is survived by her husband and four other children. Our team visited Koshkak yesterday afternoon to meet Rabia’s husband in the midst of his personal tragedy and to extend our deepest condolences on behalf of all World Vision colleagues. In this video, National Director, Thamindri De Silva, pays tribute to Rabia and dedicates the ongoing earthquake response in her name.
