Tony Rinaudo
"My lifelong passion is helping farmers and communities regenerate and protect vegetation and, as a result, the environment and their income."
I joined World Vision Australia in 1999 after spending 17 years in Niger Republic with the organisation ‘Serving in Mission’. Currently I am the Principal Natural Resources Advisor for World Vision Australia and am primarily focused on the promotion and implementation of a land and vegetation restoration technique called Farmer Managed Natural Regeneration (FMNR). FMNR has now been introduced into 24 countries through World Vision operations. I have extensive experience in community development and through World Vision and in partnerships with other organisations have strove to create self-sustaining FMNR ‘movements’.
