800 households have been identified in the city of #Mutshatsha in the province of #Lualaba in the Democratic Republic of Congo, with a high prevalence of acute and severe malnutrition among children aged 0-59 months.
To help these families through its Global Hunger Response project, whose main objective is to fight malnutrition in the city of Mutshatsha,
World Vision launched the second phase of the project in January 2023 with the establishment of three farmer field schools.
Three main components characterise this second phase of the #GHR project.
-The first component consists of the establishment of farmer field schools;
-The second component is dedicated to the learning of environmentally friendly agricultural techniques.
-The third component consists of teaching communities to cultivate food with high nutritional value for the good health of children and their families
These fields are mainly composed of vegetables, beans, cereals ...
The second stage of the project to support food security and nutritional improvement aims to overcome the difficulties encountered during the year 2022, to strengthen the achievements, to ensure sustainability and local ownership of the project approach and to perpetuate its results.
