Working differently, one of the recommendations of the programme forum held in Lubumbashi
By Tatiana Ballay, Communications Officer
World Vision DRC's programme forum took place from 22nd to 26th April 2024 in Lubumbashi, in the Haut-Katanga province in southern DRC. The aim of the five-day workshop was to strengthen the way in which the most vulnerable are served, and to encourage teams to work together through efficient coordination and communication in order to guarantee the impact on the well-being of children in 2024 and beyond.
Several topics were discussed at the meeting, including working differently to ensure that World Vision DRC's national strategy is detailed and understood by all staff, partners, and other stakeholders to ensure that the integration of programmes using different project models and/or sectors is implemented appropriately.
The discussions also focused on the restructuring of the clusters, which will enable World Vision to work more effectively and give better direction to its interventions. Participants contributed to the discussions by answering questions raised during the debates.
Jean Pierre Kibawa, National Office Education Specialist, was delighted with the contributions made during the forum.
“We noted the involvement of the SLT, which took into consideration our recommendations, and we are very satisfied. A clear action plan has been drawn up. We can already be sure that the plan will be properly implemented,’’ he explained.
The action plan drawn up with the participation of everyone will be used to choose the priority areas for implementation, in line with the solutions proposed during these meetings, which will be launched in the coming months to ‘Work differently’.
