From 15 to 20 July, World Vision DRC, in partnership with Dreamstartlab, organised an innovative training session in Gemena, in the province of South Ubangi. The session brought together 96 participants, all members of Savings Groups for Transformation (S4T), to initiate a process of digitising their operations using the Dreamsave application.

The main objective of this training is to modernise the management methods of the S4Ts, moving from traditional paper-based systems to efficient and transparent digital systems. The Dreamsave application has been introduced as a powerful tool to improve financial management, record keeping and reporting within these savings groups.

Mireille, a member of one of the savings groups, was amazed by this digital integration and shared her experience. ‘Before this training, we used paper and notebooks for our financial records, which often led to confusion and errors. With Dreamsave, everything is clear and transparent. This digital tool has revolutionised how we manage our savings and loans,’ she says.

Digitising Savings Groups for positive results

Field staff and agents are now proficient in using Dreamsave, enabling them to guide S4T leaders in integrating the technology into their regular meetings.

Accurate reporting and transparent processes enable S4T members to make informed financial decisions, leading to better planning and economic stability.

By adopting digital tools, savings group members can strengthen their economic resilience and independence, contributing to long-term community development.

This initiative by World Vision DRC and Dreamstartlab represents a significant step towards improving the economic resilience of rural communities in the DRC. By integrating advanced tools such as Dreamsave, World Vision DRC is committed to supporting sustainable development and empowering local communities to achieve financial self-sufficiency.

Not only does it improve financial literacy, but it also paves the way for sustainable community development, ensuring a brighter future for all involved.
