306 graduate from World Vision Eswatini’s Vocational Skills Programme
On the 25th August 2023, World Vision and its local technical and vocational education training (TVET) partners gathered at The George Hotel to officially certificate 306 graduates who have been empowered the graduates with lifetime capacity.
This was achieved through a technical and vocational education 12 months training aimed at equipping people, especially the youth, with skills that will help them become entrepreneurs, since unemployment is still a problem in Eswatini.
As means of bringing sustained well-being to the children within families and communities, especially the most vulnerable, the organization, through its Livelihood technical programme, together with its partners, successfully trained them skills in plumbing, sewing, catering, welding, décor, electrical wiring and upholstery. World vision worked hand in hand with vocational partners including Sebenta National Institute, NASTIC, Buhle Catering, Lunyati Vocational Training Centre, JI Catering School, National Health Training Centre (NHTC) and Women in Development.
These graduates hail from 10 remote-located constituencies in the country, namely, Somntongo, Hosea, Mkhiweni, Mahlangatsha, Shewula, Lubulini, Sandleni, Maseyisini, Mantambe, Madlangempisi and Sithobela. 16 of these graduates are from the Malindza and Manzini Refugee Centres.
“These qualifications will enable you to open doors to success, while permanently closing the door to lack”, WV Eswatini’s National Director said.
From gallery walks displaying what they have learnt through TVET to fashion parades, this was indeed a beautiful day!
Congratulations graduates!
