A Brighter Future for the Most Vulnerable Boys and Girls: World Vision Ghana’s New Strategy
World Vision Ghana has launched a strategy under the theme ‘’Accelerating Our Commitment to the Most Vulnerable Children’’ as part of measures to transform the lives of 3.3 million most vulnerable children by the end of the year 2025.
The National Director of World Vision Ghana, Mr. Dickens Thunde in his address stated that the strategy was fueled by the urgent need to salvage the plight of children and to address the ills in society.
"The strategy was publicized to create awareness to attract collaborations from government agencies, and partners to achieve the goal of transformation" he added.
The strategy will run on three pillars to achieve its specific objectives which seek to increase access to healthcare and protection from diseases for 1 million vulnerable children, improve learning outcomes for 1.3 million vulnerable children and build peaceful communities for 1 million children.
To ensure the fulfillment of the strategy’s objectives, three technical programmes were designed to be implemented namely; Healthy Environment and Wellness Technical Programme (HEAL), Reading Improvement and Skills Enhancement (RISE) and Livelihood Improvement and Family Empowerment (LIFE).
The Board Chair of World Vision Ghana, Mr. Baffour Otu Boateng admonished partners, donors and like-minded organizations to join forces with World Vision Ghana to keep our promise of bringing hope and fullness of life to the most vulnerable children.
Deputy Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection, Hon. Lariba Zuweira Abudu, in her keynote address, added that there is a global clarion call to end all forms of violence and vulnerabilities affecting children therefore, there is the need for the Government of Ghana to continue to work closely with World Vision Ghana through broader consultative cooperation towards meeting the needs of the most vulnerable children.
As part of the event, an exhibition session was held for participants where they received more insight into the work and achievements of World Vision Ghana across its various sectors; Education, Health, WASH, Food Security and Livelihood.
Some key representatives from selected corporate organizations such as Promasidor, Water Aid and Vodafone shared their partnership experiences with World Vision Ghana and the great strides made towards improving the wellbeing of the most vulnerable children and empowering communities.
