Monitoring of World Vision's efforts to combat malaria in Torma Bum
This video shows World Vision's malaria control efforts in Torma Bum, in the Bonthe District of Sierra Leone. Torma Bum is a beautiful place in the south and is home to the largest rice production and cultivation area in the country.
In partnership with the Ministry of Health, World Vision Sierra Leone, with funding from Fonds-Finanz, a corporate partner of World Vision Germany, rehabilitated and expanded the Torma Health Centre in 2021.
The renovation included the addition of a solar-powered borehole water system, solar-powered lighting and essential furniture. World Vision is also supporting a Grand Mothers Club and Community Health Workers to provide medical support to pregnant women, lactating mothers and children under five in hard-to-reach areas.
