Empowering the People of Hatra, Ninewa, to Become Climate Resilient

In Hatra, Ninewa, dwellers of the villages suffered immensely due to the conflict of 2014 which led many families to leave their homes and lands and live in displacement. In recent years, the people of Hatra suffered one more time as the region faced drought.  

Consequently, World Vision Iraq with funding from ADH launched its project, Facing the Communities’ Ability to Adapt and Face Shocks, Crises, and Climate Changes.  

Through this project, we trained 75 farmers on modern agricultural methods to become climate resilient and empowered 50 women to help them learn raise bees and produce honey to become financially independent and be able to bring income to their families.
