An Olive Harvest Under Threat
The annual olive harvest is a vital source of secondary income for tens of thousands of Palestinian families. Last year, many families were unable to access their olive groves, which had a devastating impact on their livelihood and pushed them further into poverty. This year’s harvest (from the end of September to mid-November) is taking place amidst escalating violence and a severe economic crisis. Preventing a repeat of last year’s restrictions and violence is crucial to safeguarding livelihoods and preventing further food insecurity in the West Bank.
