In her shadow: Life through Adama's eyes
Day Of The Girl, 11 October 2021
Our National Director, Antoinette Habinshuti, meets Adama, a committed girl who lives in the commune of Dabo, to put herself in her shadow, discuss and share the participation of girls in community well-being and other issues that concern them.
Right now, Adama is dreaming of a brighter future. She is currently living in poverty and held back by social and cultural barriers beyond her control. But that doesn’t stop her dreaming.
At World Vision, we support girls to take back their childhoods and their basic rights, like education. It empowers them to write their own futures.
In our programme in Dabo, girls are raising their voices to help change the structures and barriers that keep them from reaching their potential.
