Prolonged drought and the untold hardships of children and families in Somalia
The prolonged drought in Somalia has resulted in untold suffering and hardships for children and their families.
Shukri can barely afford school fees, provide health care and sufficient food and nutrition needs for her family. As a means of coping with the hardships brought about by the prolonged drought, she is forced to send her 13-year-old son to do manual jobs in town so that the family can get some money for food.
