World Vision's Earthquake Response in Myanmar

On March 28, a powerful earthquake struck central Myanmar, leaving thousands of people and children displaced, homes destroyed, and lives upended in just moments.

The affected children are losing access to safe water, food, shelter, and basic protection.

Within days, World Vision mobilized its emergency response teams to support the affected communities with life-saving assistance.

4) Helping to Access Clean Water 

Through WASH interventions, World Vision helped access clean water sources to prevent the spread of disease.

5) Food Assistance 

Essential food supplies were distributed to help children and their families meet their immediate needs.

6) Multipurpose Cash Assistance (Collaboration with WFP)

Multipurpose cash assistance was distributed to help families rebuild their lives.
 

7) Safe Spaces for Children

Child-friendly spaces were quickly established, giving children a safe place to play, learn, and begin to recover emotionally from the trauma.

8) Emergency Education

We help children continue their education in earthquake-hit communities.

9) Non-Food Items

Non-food items such as shelter kits and dignity supplies are helping affected children and families restore their lives and rebuild their sense of dignity.

Signs of recovery are visible. With compassion, coordination, and community strength, children and families are rebuilding their lives—one step at a time.
