Adapting to Change: World Vision Zambia Hosts Leadership Summit to Navigate Workplace Changes

World Vision Zambia recently hosted a three-day Leadership Summit in Livingstone, focusing on the necessity for organizational leaders to adapt to the evolving dynamics of the workplace. The summit, themed "Adapting to Change in the Evolving Workplace," aimed at equipping leaders with essential skills and insights to effectively steer their teams amidst modern workplace challenges and opportunities.

Speaking during the event, World Vision Zambia Board Chairperson, Ms. Mabel Mung'omba, emphasized the critical need for embracing change in the current business climate.

"In today's fast-paced world, the ability to adapt is not just an advantage but a necessity. Leaders must be proactive in navigating these changes to ensure the success and sustainability of their organizations," stated Ms. Mung’omba.

World Vision Zambia National Director Mr. Marc Nosbach reinforced this message, highlighting the summit's goal of preparing leaders to thrive during transitions. 

"Our objective is to equip leaders with the tools and knowledge to manage change effectively. This summit is a platform for sharing best practices and innovative solutions that can drive our mission forward," Mr. Nosbach explained.

Adding to the knowledge of expertise and perspectives, Standard Chartered Zambia Chief Executive Officer Sonny Zulu addressed the attendees on the topic of "Thriving in the Evolving Workplace." 

He shared, "The workplace is constantly evolving, and it is crucial for leaders to stay ahead of the curve. We can turn challenges into opportunities by embracing change and fostering a culture of innovation."

The summit also featured a presentation by Absa Bank Zambia CEO Mizinga Melu, who spoke on "Steering Through Change with Confidence."

Ms. Melu encouraged leaders to approach change with a positive mindset and confidence. 

"Change can be scary and worrisome, but with the right attitude and strategies, we can navigate it successfully and emerge stronger," she said.

Additionally, Dr. Maria Akani inspired leaders with her insightful talk on "Innovate, Adapt, and Thrive." Her presentation emphasized the importance of embracing change and fostering innovation to drive sustainable growth and development. 

"Leaders must think creatively and adapt to the ever-evolving challenges in their respective fields. Innovation is key to staying relevant and achieving long-term success," Akani noted. "Do not remain in the past; always move with the changing and developing world and embrace it quickly to remain relevant."

To end the event, there was an award ceremony to honour the leaders who did an excellent job this year. These hardworking leaders have shown great passion and dedication, making positive changes and bringing hope to children and their communities in Zambia.

The Leadership Summit is an essential time for leaders to work together and share ideas. It helps create new solutions that not only solve current problems for World Vision Zambia but also support their long-term goals of helping children. The organisation holds this meeting annually to discuss leadership issues and find ways to build leaders' capacity.
