In partnership with Golf Fore Africa, World Vision Zambia recently handed over the Kaluruzi Maternity Annex, equipped with a mechanised water system to promote improved service delivery for the people of Mbala District.

Speaking during the event, Mbala District Commissioner Hon. Jestus Sikazwe expressed gratitude to World Vision for its consistent support in addressing the district's developmental challenges.

"As a government, we are very grateful to World Vision for enhancing an improved environment for quality service delivery in health and education through improved water, sanitation, and hygiene,” said Mr Sikazwe.

"With the infrastructure now in place, over 3,800 individuals are expected to benefit, with immediate access to clean water and enhanced healthcare services," emphasized Hon. Jestus Sikazwe. "Surely, this will go a long way in helping the district and nation at large realize the 8th National Development Plan and the global Sustainable Development Goals number 3 and 6."

Meanwhile, the World Vision Zambia Chipili/Chifunabuli Cluster Programme Manager, Mr. Mpengo Simutami, said the Kaluluzi Maternity Annex and Water Supply System, constructed at a cost of $120,000, signifies an investment in improving maternal and child health in the region.

"To World Vision Zambia, this is money well spent," remarked Mr. Simutami. "This infrastructure will go a long way to improve the health status of pregnant women, lactating mothers, and under-five children of Kaluluzi community, thereby reducing maternal and infant mortality rates."

A good healthcare system is important to reduce families' burden and contribute to national growth. No man, woman, or child can experience life in its fullness without proper health," he said.

As the ceremony concluded, both speakers emphasized safeguarding these facilities to ensure sustained access to quality healthcare services.

"We believe in partnerships because we recognize that we can only achieve our goal of transforming children’s lives so they can live life in its fullness by working with others," concluded the cluster Programme Manager.

Through strategic partnerships and tireless work, World Vision continues progressing toward its vision of a world where every child can live a fulfilling life.
