World Vision Zambia Hands Over Education and Health Infrastructure to the Zambian Government in Nkeyema District
World Vision Zambia recently officially handed over various education and health infrastructure in collaboration with committed partners and community members in Nkeyema district of Western Province. These newly constructed facilities at Njonjolo Rural Health Center and Kahare Health Center, will provide essential antenatal, pre-natal, and postnatal care for pregnant and lactating women and the classroom block at Kapa Community School, will enhance the learning environment leading to improved literacy.
Speaking during the handover event, World Vision Zambia's Donor Representative Dean Hirsh said the infrastructure are a reminder of the power of partnerships.
"As we celebrate this milestone, we are reminded of the power of partnership, compassion, and community engagement," remarked Mr. Hirsh. "Today, we witness the tangible impact of our collective efforts, offering hope for a brighter tomorrow to the vulnerable children and their families."
And Speaking on behalf of World Vision Zambia National Director, John Hasse, Associate Director for Grants Management Mercy Chabu, said the infrastructures are a conduit through which dreams will be achieved.
"At Kapa Community School, these new classroom blocks are more than just buildings, they are a place where dreams will come to reality," said Ms. Chabu. "We believe in the power of education to unlock potential that is within our children and create a brighter future."
Meanwhile, the Western Province Minister Honorable Kapelwa Mbangweta said the World Vision has been an all weather partner in development because it has walked the developmental journey with communities in Nkeyema for several years.
"The completion of these infrastructure projects shows the significance of teamwork and joint endeavours in promoting our mutual objectives in healthcare, education, and water and sanitation," stated Hon. Mbangweta. "As a government we are happy to have partners like World Vision because together we are meeting the National and global targets and creating an environment where children and their families have a chance to live fuller lives and thrive."
The Provincial Minister further called on other stakeholders to come on board and work with the government in uplifting the well-being of the people in Western Province and Zambia at large.
