World Vision Zambia Holds Grants Review to Improve Project Implementation
World Vision Zambia recently held a Grants Review meeting in Lusaka, where all project implementers came together to review the progress of their various initiatives. This annual meeting serves as a critical platform to assess the impact and effectiveness of all non-sponsorship funding and programs that the organization operates across Zambia.
In his opening remarks, World Vision Zambia Director Mr. Marc Nosbach invited participants to share ideas and practices related to the various projects the organization is implementing.
"This meeting is an opportunity for us to learn from each other and improve our projects. By sharing our experiences and insights, we can increase the effectiveness of our initiatives and better serve the communities we support," said Mr. Nosbach.
World Vision Zambia Integrated Programs Director, Mr. Wezi Kaira, urged staff to diligently explore alternatives and seek ways to improve collaboration between support services and programming to alleviate barriers to timely implementation.
"We must work together to overcome challenges and ensure the effective implementation of our projects. Collaboration and innovation are the keys to our success," Mr. Kaira emphasized.
Participants engaged in comprehensive discussions to reflect on successes, identify challenges, and share insights that can improve the program's future implementation. By fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing, the meeting focused on strengthening the organization's ability to provide effective and sustainable solutions that address the needs of vulnerable children and their communities in Zambia.
The World Vision Zambia Associate Director for Grants Management, Ms. Mercy Chabu, called on the project managers to take responsibility for and improve the quality of their project reports.
“We are not here to point fingers at each other but to build each other in areas needing improvement. The main purpose of this meeting is for each of us to freely open up about how we can best finish this financial year and carry the momentum to the next year of implementation,” said Ms Chabu.
The meeting focused primarily on financial management, with the Grants Management team conducting a thorough review of the year-to-date financial performance of ongoing grants. The team analyzed spending patterns, ensured compliance with operating budgets and worked to identify any discrepancies. World Vision Zambia strives to build and maintain trust with donors and stakeholders by maintaining transparency and accountability in financial reporting.
As part of this grant evaluation, the team assessed each grant's financial performance by analyzing spending patterns to ensure they were consistent with the original operating budget plans. This helped to quickly resolve discrepancies and maintain transparency and accountability in financial reporting, which is essential for building trust with donors and stakeholders.
In addition, the team plans the funding needs for each grant for the remaining months. This proactive approach allows them to anticipate future expenses and challenges, optimizing resources so that all programs operate efficiently and achieve the intended impact on the lives of children and their communities.
Through these efforts, World Vision Zambia strives to ensure that all projects are aligned with their mission to improve the well-being of children and families in need.
