President Hakainde Hichilema has appealed to World Vision to support Zambia in addressing water supply challenges in health facilities and schools. He emphasized that access to clean and reliable water is crucial, particularly for maternity wings in health facilities, and called on World Vision to partner with the government in improving these services.

President Hichilema highlighted that his administration has mandated that maternity wings across all health facilities must have access to water, a move aimed at enhancing maternal and child health outcomes. He also noted that the introduction of free education has significantly increased school enrollments, further straining water resources in educational institutions.

The President made these remarks during a meeting at State House in Lusaka with a World Vision delegation led by its President and CEO, Andrew Morley. He acknowledged World Vision's continued commitment to supporting Zambia’s development and urged deeper collaboration to address the pressing need for water access in key sectors.
