In 2021, World Vision Zimbabwe and World Food Programme (WFP) collaborated with the Local Government and the Majazo Community to establish the Majazo Nutrition Garden. The garden has been a remarkable success, providing more than 70 women with a source of food and income.
Majazo Nutrition Garden was equipped with a cutting-edge drip irrigation system that has made watering the garden a hassle-free task. The garden is spread over a vast area and also boasts of a 0.5-hectare orchard where they cultivate an array of fruits such as bananas, oranges, papayas, guavas, and more.
WFP Country Director Francesca Erdelmann emphasized on the importance of the beneficiaries using the garden as a primary source of income so that they can sustain themselves and their families.
