World Refugee Day
Millions forcibly displaced due to the ongoing conflict in Sudan
Sudan has become the world’s largest child displacement crisis with 4 million children fleeing widespread violence in search of safety, food, shelter, and health care, mostly within Sudan.
The Humanitarian Context
Present in-country for the past 20 years, World Vision is one of the largest humanitarian agencies in Sudan. Our operations on-going with local staff working on the ground to respond to the needs of children and their families affected by the conflict.
Since the escalation of violence in April 2023, we have reached over 1.7 million people, including children with life-saving relief assistance across Blue Nile, East Darfur, South Darfur and South Kordofan States.
We need unhindered humanitarian access to provide food assistance and multipurpose cash among other interventions to avert the looming famine. This is the worst hunger crisis that has ever been recorded in Sudan, and the situation is dire.
