REGIONAL TECHNICAL ADVISOR HEALTH AND NUTRITION, EAST ASIA REGION

Thamilini Joshepkumar is a Registered Nutritionist with over 15 years of experience in food security, public health, and child nutrition. She currently serves as the East Asia Regional Advisor – Health and Nutrition at World Vision, providing strategic guidance across the region. Prior to this role, she served as the Technical Advisor for the Integrated Nutrition Programme at World Vision Lanka and was seconded to the South Asia and Pacific region as a Health and Nutrition Advisor.
 
Thamilini holds a Ph.D. in Nutrition, with a focus on food security and maternal and child health. She is also an Australia Awards South Asia alumna, having completed a specialised short course in Multisectoral Approaches to Nutrition and Food Security at Griffith University in Australia.
 
She has held key academic and technical roles at institutions including Wayamba University of Sri Lanka, the Diabetes Association of Sri Lanka, and the Non-Communicable Disease Alliance Lanka. Thamilini currently serves as a council member of the SUN People’s Forum in Sri Lanka and is a former Secretary of the Nutrition Society of Sri Lanka. She actively contributes to national scientific and technical committees and has authored numerous publications in the field.
