Hope was reborn after the revolution of 1989, but many Romanians still live in hope for prosperity 20 years on. With accession to the EU, has it finally arrrived? By 2013, 30 billion Euros in EU assistance will have been poured into Romania. Two years into this process, familiies in rural areas speak of little change to their lives. For their children, office statistics reveal a significant increase in high school enrollement, yet only one out of the four children introduced here attend high school. What stops the other three?
