More than 100 children who live in difficult circumstances have delivered their messages and had open talks with leaders of District 4 in Ho Chi Minh City at a forum about an equal environment for all children.

“My friends and I are interested in activities at the forum. We also shared our ideas and learnt from other friends,” said Nguyen Thi Cam Thu, 15, an orphan from Ward 8. “We hope all children are protected from social evils and misfortune. Adults should take better care of us.”

The forum was orgnised by World Vision’s Area Development Programme and local authority of District 4. The two partners also surveyed the youth participants about child well being during the two days of preparing for the forum. The children were interested in the surveys and included results of the survey in their messages to leaders at the forum.

“The cooperation between World Vision and our concerned agencies brought the success of the forum,” said To Thi Bich Chau, Vice Chairwoman of People’s Committee of the district. “Each partner has their own strength. Our agencies are good at governance management and working with local people while World Vision is professional in working with children and in community development. The combination made the forum successful.”
