Zambia: Drought Response
With El Niño worsening drought conditions, families across Zambia are facing immense hardships as they struggle to access food, water, and basic necessities. This has led to severe water shortages, crop failures, energy deficits and increased food insecurity. This is affecting an estimated 9 million people in 84 districts.
Call to action:
World Vision Zambia has developed a $20 million response plan focused on comprehensive support, including food security, water, sanitation, child protection, and livelihood support. Current funding is insufficient, with significant gaps remaining. World Vision Zambia is actively seeking further contributions from international donors, governments, and private sector partners to support the families in need.
