Partnership against Pied-Bot infirmity

World Vision Burundi signs an agreement of partnership with RCPHB (Network of centers for people living with disabilities) in eradicating of the Pied Bot disability among Burundian children. Pied Bot is a congenital malformation of the foot with higher prevalence in developing countries. RCPHB executes the program with Cure International, an international NGO specialized in Pediatric medicine and disability treatment.

Through the partnership, World Vision Burundi is committed to supporting RCPHB large scale sensitization of the population on the Pied Bot disability and existing centers for Pied Bot treatment. The program is expected to result in increase in numbers of children referred to such centers.

World Vision Burundi National Director, Albert Siminyu says World Vision will continue to work with organizations like RCPHB to ensure the disability is eradicated in Burundi. “As we are currently involved in a process to revise our national strategy for the next five years, we look forward to working with you to ensure children with disability are put at the center of our interventions and are identified as among the most vulnerable.”He explain

RCPHB was represented by Gilbert Bizimungu, the organization’s Projects Coordinator, says that his organization is committed to making sure children with Pied Bot disability are identified and attended so as to allow them live and grow in dignity.
