“A safe learning environment is key to children’s education”, Joseph Butore, the Burundi 2nd Vice-President says as he officially receives and launches the infrastructures.
“Your continued support to Burundi children is much appreciated”, he adds.
The new infrastructures were built in six provinces (Karusi, Muyinga, Cankuzo, Gitega, and Rutana) whereby World Vision Burundi is intervening.
Joseph Butore said to be satisfied by World Vision’s interventions and wished other stakeholders to do the same.
“This investment is for you (local communities), and you are called to safeguard it”, the 2nd Vice-President said, looking at community members, present at the hand-over.
“It’s our hope and desire to see these facilities contributing to the enhancement of education of children from the communities they are in”, Destaw Berhanu Nega, the Integrated Programme and Strategy Director for World Vision; says to complement what Joseph Butore has said.
Education is one sector among many others in which we are intervening to make sure children enjoy good life.
‘’Besides education, we intervene also in Nutrition, Health, Food Security, Child Protection, WASH, Economic Development and many others,’’ Destaw explains to the Vice President who keeps nodding as he explains and getting ready to cut the ribbon as a sign of official launch.
