World Vision gets recognized on disaster response

Phnum Penh – On 2 April at the World Vision Cambodia National Office, His Excellency Dr. Nhem Vanda, Senior Minister in-charge of First Vice President of the National Committee for Disaster Management,handed out medals of achievement to 21 World Visionstaff who have exemplified commitment, self-sacrifice,and compassion for those in greatest needs.
His Excellency Nhem Vanda said, “On behalf of Samdach Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of Cambodia, I would like to say blessings to all leadership management of World Vision Cambodia and all staff for your work success and being a good partner with the Cambodian government.”
He added, “World Vision plays a very important role in helping Cambodia and has achieved much in the field of social development work, human resources, and in disaster response. I would like to also thank other countries for helping Cambodia through their donations and many activities.”
“Disasters can happen at any time and we must be diligent in our preparation and enable the communities we work in do the same. Our collective readiness will save lives and protectlivelihoods,” said Esther Halim, Country Director of World Vision Cambodia.
“To the managers and staff we are acknowledging today,thank you for being prepared and ready to act when the situation demanded it. You worked tirelessly under stressful circumstances and prioritized the well-being of children and their families in your relief work,” she said.
“I am sure His Excellency would join me in saying that we are proud of each you. Keep up the good work. You have made a difference.”
