Evidence base and practitioner experiences on delivering quality education and protection programmes in crisis contexts
DownloadWorld Vision, as a child focused agency with a substantial global presence, strongly promotes the need to ensure the continued education of children, even in (especially in) times of crisis. Education in crisis contexts is seldom “business” as usual and often requires rethinking the role of education, teacher, parent, and the child in re-establishing quality education. World Vision’s efforts in conflict contexts have focused largely and historically on child friendly places and placed primacy on protection and psychosocial well being, both key factors that influence learning. This presentation provides an overview of World Vision's research of the effectiveness of Child Friendly Spaces and two examples, from KRI and Ethiopia, respectively of the work that World Vision is doing to help children access quality education in times of crisis.
