Over the month of October, World Vision provided humanitarian support to 53,000 people in 35 villages of the West Bank as part of our emergency response.

The Global Alliance Against Hunger and Poverty, launched at the G20 Summit in 2023, unites over 145 countries and organizations to end hunger and malnutrition. With $7 billion needed annually, the alliance aims to tackle child food insecurity and malnutrition through coordinated global efforts and financial commitments.

The conflict in Lebanon, which escalated in late September, has intensified significantly over the past ten days, reaching unprecedented levels nationwide. In the south, 37 villages and around 200,000 homes have been destroyed, leaving thousands homeless and displaced to shelters across the country. In Beirut’s suburbs, relentless airstrikes have caused widespread destruction, with frequent evacuation orders. Despite the risks, many residents remain in their homes, and local markets, a key source of livelihoods, are still running.

This is the two years on report for the Global Hunger Response, including highlights from the last fiscal year (FY24).

This article tells the story of how humanitarian actors, particularly those from World Vision and the WFP, managed to overcome the challenges of reaching the most vulnerable people. The story focuses on internally displaced people (IDPs), who had no access to humanitarian aid because roads were impassable for a variety of reasons. But thanks to their resilience, even though others have died of hunger, these IDPs now have access to aid and are receiving food. Their children are now spared from hunger and malnutrition.
