Joining Forces Alliance Condemns Heinous Act, Calls on Men and Women in Uniform to Uphold Law and Order
Monday, January 13, 2025, Lusaka – The Joining Forces Alliance expresses its deepest outrage and condemnation of the appalling act of incest allegedly perpetrated by a Zambia Air
Force (ZAF) flight sergeant against his 14-year-old biological daughter. The incident, reported on January 8, 2025, highlights a grave violation of the child’s dignity, trust,
and basic human rights.
This crime is a breach of moral and societal norms and a stark betrayal of the duties and responsibilities entrusted to men and women in uniform, who are called to protect
and serve children, families and communities.
Joining Forces Alliance Chairperson, Dr Paul Kapotwe said:
"This despicable act is a betrayal of trust and the uniform that symbolises discipline, respect, and protection. We stand firmly with the victim and her family in seeking justice.
Such actions must be met with the full force of the law to ensure that perpetrators, regardless of their status or position, are held accountable for their crimes."
The Alliance calls upon all men and women in uniform to uphold the law and serve as examples of integrity and discipline. This incident serves as a tragic reminder that
abuse of power and trust can have devastating consequences on the most vulnerable in society.
"We urge law enforcement agencies to ensure swift investigations and prosecution of the alleged perpetrator of this despicable crime. Let this serve as a message that no one is
above the law. We also call on institutions such as the Zambia Air Force to strengthen their internal mechanisms for addressing and preventing such grave offenses within their ranks."
The Joining Forces Alliance reaffirms its commitment to advocating for the rights and protection of children and calls on all Zambians to remain vigilant against all forms of
child abuse and report such incidents to law enforcement agencies. It is crucial for communities, institutions, and individuals to unite in creating safe environments
where children can thrive free from harm.
We commend the Zambia Police Service for their swift response in apprehending the suspect and urge that the victim and her family be provided with psychosocial support
during this difficult time.
